Description

Leica Microsystems is looking for a Sales Account Manager to join their Industry sales team.  You will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing accounts as well as the development of new opportunities within existing and emerging markets. The position requires both commercial and technical competence along with a strong element of experience and confidence to cover the wide range of markets defined within the Industrial portfolio.

The role is focused on both standard and occasional custom solutions to fulfil customer demands. Therefore a flexible, lateral, approach with a strong emphasis on listening to and understanding the customer objectives is anticipated. In parallel it is essential to maintain a close eye on price and value from the customer’s perspective, along with profit margin guidelines.

A familiarisation with sales management tools such as Salesforce would be a distinct advantage as would knowledge of other electronic processes, such as the EDC loans system.

This role can be adapted to capitalise on the skills and experience of the successful candidate and offers an opportunity for specialisation within the team. Keys to managing and growing this business are your reaction to queries within a reasonable timeframe along with a lateral approach to opportunities.  You will be supported by close cooperation with colleagues both within the broader selling team and business unit structures.
The demonstration of good technical skills gained in a scientific or relevant industrial environment along with a proven commercial track record would be advantageous to any person applying for this role.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Whilst a Degree in a Science or engineering, or equivalent, is nice to have, of equal value is a strong Sales experience in a relevant industry and above all, common sense

Strong communication skills and sound business acumen

Proven record of success selling similar products - although training will be provided for the right candidate

Ability to drive business success through demonstrating consistency and capability to grow business over a period of time.

Fluency in English (another European language would be desirable though not essential)

Technical ability to demonstrate microscopy equipment after training has been provided
Effective time management and personal organisation
