Work with R&D team to develop, enhance or investigate new and/or existing separation products and technology. Work with synthetic and analytical chemists in developing new HPLC, SPE and Biotechnology products/methods. Take responsibility for new product development, manufacturing or analytical techniques used to create/improve products and technology.

• Provide expertise in analytical methods and problem solving within rapidly growing and/or relevant strategic areas of separation science.
• Conceive, design and develop/evaluate novel, efficient, reproducible, marketable and scalable consumable technologies for the separation sciences, in line with company goals
• Study and understand analytical methods and problems within rapidly growing and/or relevant strategic areas of separation science to drive and direct development efforts
• Research, develop and present solution-oriented separation and sample preparation/ purification methods for "hot areas" based on Phenomenex technology and products.
• Effectively lead research projects within R&D, including proper planning, resource allocation, control and completion.
• Assist in the development of novel technologies as part of an/the R&D team as required
• Assist in the development of applications for new products and technologies.
• Assist in the development of meaningful and discriminating QC tests for all new products in conjunction with the QC Supervisor.
• Support technical and manufacturing personnel in the transfer, optimization, scale-up and trouble-shooting of all new production methods and SOPs.
• Effectively lead application development projects including proper planning, resource allocation, control and completion.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, legible records of all experiments and graph all relevant trend data along with the appropriate controls and blanks.
• Maintain all instruments and equipment in excellent condition, keep all work areas neat and clean, and follow all safety procedures without exception.
• Supervise and assign work to research technicians if required for research programs.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


• Master’s Degree in Chemistry or other Life Science required.
• Experience in Microsoft office and Database Management
• Must be able to present clearly and to large groups, ie seminars & trainings
• 1-3 years of experience in Chromatography.  Method development/validation experience preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Analysis, Toxicology or Analytical Science
