Description

The purpose of this position is to manage all sales and selling activities of the Confocal and Widefield sales teams in his/her assigned region.  The primary function is to implement domestic sales plans and to evaluate the performance of each representative/agency within the region, recommend strategies to improve the sale of products in the rep's territory, aid in the implementation of these strategies and support them in their selling activity, in line with Marketing, Corporate growth, profitability, and mission objectives.
Manage sales region to meet or exceed regional sales and profit budget.
Responsible for direct sales representatives.
Create specific sales activity plans for each sales representative  to align with strategic goals and meet sales and profit budget (Territory Plan).
Develop specific action plan for key Target Account penetration.
Recruit, train, and develop sales rep team 
Provide accurate reporting through SalesForce (SFDC) for forecasting, won/lost orders, activity metrics, etc. to measure progress towards strategic and budget goals.
Provide standard monthly reports (market conditions, activity summary, competition, sales rep development, etc.).

Job Requirements



Qualifications

5+ years experience in sales management with responsibility for managing 5-10 sales reps in Life Science capital equipment sales. 
7+ years experience as a sales representative in Life Science capital equipment field desired.
MS degree in a science or engineering field or equivalent minimum desired
Bachelors Degree 
Master and/or MBA a plus
English 
Travel (required estimated % of time)
60% - 70% travel (3-4 days per week)
Occasional Travel Internationally
People management skills
Self-motivated
Strong team player
Ability to comprehend scientific applications issues
Demonstrated experience in developing and mentoring a team.
Good time management
Strong communication skills
Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, iCRM)
Reports directly to General Manager - Life Science Division
Direct Reports include:

Account Managers
Interact with all departments
Customers
