Pall Corporation of Port Washington, New York is seeking an R&D Engineer II, New Polymeric Membrane Development to join its team of innovators! We are seeking a forward thinking, science driven engineer to help us tackle complex challenges as well as invent and discover the next generations of membranes for our customers. 

The purpose of this position is to support polymeric membrane research and development efforts to help develop new membranes in different applications for Biotech and Micro-Electronics.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Designs and & executes experiments in lab scale for development of next generation membrane (~50%)
  • Analyze results, summarize reports, and determine the next steps in an organized technical report (~20%)
  • Process development include scale-up to pilot and MFG scale (~30%)

Position Competencies:
  • Demonstrated sound application of engineering discipline and polymer science.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, organize, and execute research and/or development projects
  • Clearly and effectively analyze, summarize, and communicate progress and results in oral and written form
  • Design, plans, and conducts effective experiments targeted to gain needed knowledge and information for project success
  • Recognize statistically significant trends and anomalies in data and determine relevance and/or infer potential meaning to effectively solve problems
  • Process development or optimization of existing process experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Statistical process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) is preferred
  • Work effectively with team members and manufacturing in a positive, professional manner
  • Lead sub-tasks or sub-projects within a project team
  • Lead lab maintenance to ensure a clean and safe work area

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science & Engineering (3-5 years relevant work experience)

Ideal Candidate has Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science & Engineering (2-3 years relevant work experience)
