You are one of the creative brains behind our mixers and bioreactors, being the architect of our next generation of hardware and control systems, working on R&D projects from conception until hand-over to manufacturing.
You are responsible for R&D development, customization and/or improvement projects around hardware and control systems of our mixing and bioreactor technologies. Working from early phase defining the specs based on customer requests or internal change requests through design up to supervision of first builds at the manufacturing site and installation at client site.
  • Be the architect of our control systems:  Automation and Electrical design, Identify and select relevant components (sensors, actuators, controllers…) and suppliers necessary for the realization of prototypes and products;
  • Follow-up, check and challenge suppliers’ progress;
  • Assemble and test controller prototypes and perform modifications;
  • Perform software validation;
  • Perform maintenance on some equipment;
  • Responsible for preparation of technical documentation of products and of the systems (URS,electrical drawings, FDS/SDS/HDS/IOL/FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ);
  • Assist in performing functional and performance tests on prototypes and the fine tuning of regulators in collaboration with our internal application specialist department;
  • Provide practical and technical assistance to other engineers in design, assembly, manufacturing and maintenance tasks;
  • Listen, understand, translate internal and external customers’ requirements;
  • Write procedures, documentation and reports related to tests and tasks performed; 
  • Oversee lab condition and maintain equipment inventory;
  • Serve as an expert on your field/products and challenge the technical concepts of your colleagues;
  • Work in close collaboration with team members and other departments like internal sales, sourcing, quality, etc;
  • Be an active member of Pall Automation CoP (Community of Practice) to drive standardization and continuous improvement across Pall.

Job Requirements


  • Master's degree in engineering, preferably electro mechanics
  • 3-10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Knowledge of different SCADA’s (Wonderware, Siemens,…)
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLC systems (Allen-Bradley is an asset)
  • Knowledge of CE and US regulatory (machinery directive, LV, EMC, IEC/EN standards, UL standards) 
  • Knowledge of GAMP 5 requirements
  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of electrical cabinet design and electrical drawings program (preferably eplan)
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD program (SolidWorks/Inventor) is an asset
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (company language), French and Dutch are assets
