Description

General
  • First level supervisor for 2nd shift who provides immediate supervision to associates in a busy production environment
  • Partners closely with 1st shift supervisor to drive team to meet goals
  • Directs and optimizes workflow of quality control department
  • Trained to understand and execute department quality actions including material inspection, instrument module, final instrument and packaging inspection and design history review when needed       
  • Engages and develops talent of the team by training, coaching and modeling behaviors
  • Ensures quality systems adherence and integrity in a regulated environment through compliance to all FDA, QSR/cGMP, ISO and Quality Policies of Beckman Coulter.
  • Display a deep understanding of testing procedures and company policies.
  • Fundamental knowledge of medical industry practices.

Accountability and Impact
  • Prioritize daily/weekly work assignments to meet production needs for staff on second shift through strong partnership with co-supervisor and operations team.
  • Hold self and team accountable to produce work of the highest quality through use of stretch goals and visual management.
  • Measure and monitor work of both self and team to ensure compliance
  • Administers policies and procedures to ensure work is completed to company standards and to meet regulatory requirements
  • Decisions have short-term direct impact on work unit operations and resources
Problem Solving and Innovation
  • Identify and communicate problems that might affect the quality of integrity of the product and work to resolve issues.
  • Participate on continuous process improvement projects.
  • Resolves routine but technically complex problems using defined processes and coordinates resources to meet short-term objectives

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years experience.  Field of Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of basic statistics.
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Direct experience working in a Quality role or testing lab strongly preferred
  • Experience with Beckman instrument manufacturing and previous supervisor experience a plus
  • FDA regulated environment experience recommended.
  • Fast learner able to quickly become adept at using the Danaher Business System tool set
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to manage team by influence
