Responsible to lead Purchasing Department activities related to Pall’s direct and indirect requirements. Provide  leadership, guidance, mentorship and training to a team of tactical Buyers to ensure timely delivery of purchased materials to support the Master Production Schedule and detailed production plans.  Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments including Planning, Quality, Production, Engineering, and Sales to drive improvements 
that positively impact the department and the company’s ability to meet customer requirements (internal and external). Identify projects that drive improvements in procurement efficiencies, generate PPV, improve OTD to CRGI
(customer request date), support Quick Inventory Turns and implementation of DMS strategies. Create implementation plans which utilize appropriate resources to support successful execution of the projects and demonstrate 
quantifiable gains and sustainment.

The Purchasing Manager will facilitate daily management and performance monitoring. The Manager will provide tactical and strategic direction for the team members in the department. He/she will provide guidance on priorities
and ensure that the Buyers are focused on supporting the production plan, optimizing inventory and achieving PPM targets.

Facilitates daily management/SQDIP
Joint accountability on PPV with Strategic Sourcing to achieve monthly and annual goals
Analyzes the demand and supply balance at the supplier, product family and master schedule levels, determining out-of-balance conditions, identifying options and recommending actions. Notifies Master Scheduler and Customer Service of any potential gaps in supply.
Monitors the purchasing performance against the MPS and evaluate results and assist in the development of future-plans.
Drives material replenishment strategy across the portfolio of commodities and vendors by evaluating and recommending optimal strategy (Kanban, LTA, SA, Blanket orders, etc.).
Assists Buyers in supplier negotiations to resolve conflicts with respect to material availability for order promising. 
Continues development and expansion of SAP tools to exploit system capabilities and improve efficiencies and accuracy. 
Develops a working knowledge of government compliance in order to support FAR/DFAR/CPSR/ DPAS/ITAR compliance from a leadership role. 
Reviews PIR and Material Master data and makes adjustments to support accurate material scheduling, reporting and replenishment. 
Reviews Buyer workload (commodity load) and allocates team resources to ensure timely action on purchasing duties.
Drives vendor management and supplier performance programs to achieve and maintain targeted supplier OTD. 
DBS Activities: Drive ever-improving results by leveraging Danaher Business System (DBS) and Danaher Material System (DMS) tools, consulting skills, and change management process. 
Assist Pall leadership in the development and execution of a DBS/DMS roadmap 
Directly provide formal and informal DBS/DMS training and coaching 
Ensure productive kaizen events and sustainment of KPIs. 
Benchmark and incorporate best practices

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree in Operations/Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Business Management
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Purchasing within a manufacturing organization with a metric and results driven culture.
  • Min 5 years’ experience in MRP/SAP system
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Aerospace purchasing experience preferred
  • Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) certification and /or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification preferred
  • Position Competencies: 
  • Has a solid understanding of purchasing “best practice” sourcing tactics and material replenishment strategies including but lot limited to – Supplier PULL systems, Supplier assessment and Vendor rating including supplier performance reviews
  • Assist in continued development of grow/maintain/phase out supplier strategies. Driving continuous improvements.
  • Highly effective communication and facilitation skills.
  • Prior daily management, process development and organizational development experience.
  • Proven negotiation skills with demonstrated results.
