Beckman Coulter is a Danaher company, operating in two industries: Diagnostics and Life Sciences. 


Working with partners across the organization, this individual will develop and drive the overall Beckman Coulter Diagnostics public relations (PR) strategy and manage day-to-day PR activities. He or she will work and collaborate in a matrix-environment across multiple geographies and functions, ensuring the integrity of the Beckman Coulter brand and image is upheld globally.


  • Builds a public relations strategy inclusive of all diagnostics product lines and executes on tactics aligned to the strategy

  • Consistently brainstorms and collaborates with partners for new ideas and strategies

  • Develops and produces high-quality, informative press releases, press kits, and related materials

  • Analyzes media coverage and develops responses when needed

  • Investigates and proposes editorial opportunities; independently creates and/or coordinates with marketing teams and scientific marketing to develop and place editorial content

  • Identifies, engages and fosters relationships with media and other influencers to effectively pitch and secure coverage

  • Understands advertising opportunities, coordinates with Integrated Marketing Communications Managers to develop and place advertising based on geography and aligned to the overall Beckman Coulter marketing strategy

  • Drafts speeches with senior leadership

  • Responds to information queries from media

  • Formulates standard work and procedures related to PR programs

  • Identifies and monitors key performance indicators to evaluate success of PR programs

  • Participates in Kaizens, Problem Solving Process, and Danaher Business System continuous improvement culture

  • Tracks budget and expenses including monitoring and submitting invoices for approval and payment

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in field (PR, marketing, communications, journalism, English, Writing, or related field) with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of experience



Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in related field  (e.g., PR, agency, copy writing)

  • Worked at or with large organization(s)

  • Experience working in a related industry (e.g., healthcare, IVD, Medical Device)

  • Excellent communication skills: demonstrates active listening, as well as oral and presentation skills

  • Proficient writer; able to adapt style to medium and tone required

  • Strong grammar and editing skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Technically proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Good knowledge of AP writing style

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Global mindset

  • Up to 25% travel
