Position Objective:
  • Analyze customer process user requirements specification (USR) for engineered process equipment (including different technologies such as direct flow filtration, cross flow filtration, stabilization etc.) 
  • Take ownership of projects and take responsibility from the initial enquiry phase until final sign of the project 
  • Supporting the technical lead to discuss, propose and define final engineered technical system solution with the customer including writing technical part of quotation and associated costing. After Order placement execute the proposed engineered system solution based on agreed and defined contractual specification together with a defined project team as project manager, process engineer. Make sure the project is delivered in accordance to specification, on time and within budget.

Essential Job Functions:  

100 % responsible to manage projects or defined parts of assigned projects according to contract, project budget, the required timing and quality including proper scope & claim management from first contact via order award to full completion of the project. To achieve that the following activities needs to be covered:
  • Responsible for the detailed technical process clarification (technology selection, sizing, design testing etc.) together with the project team and the customer on requested equipment.
  • Responsible for the analysis of tender documents and the technical elaboration of the engineered equipment solution. Writing technical proposal and costing for the proposed solution.
  • Take on the responsibility for the proposed equipment solution during project execution with a multidisciplinary team (establishment of project plan, coordination of project team, progress reporting and cost control)
  • Technical elaboration of detail design (including functional specification as a base for the process coding, define and creation of instrument, valve, apparatuses and fitting lists etc.).
  • Respect current industrial standards applicable for the project and work in accordance to our established quality management system.
  • Responsible for the technical documentation in accordance to the specification fort the project.
  • Execute and coordinate all necessary activities included in the project (pre-FAT, SAT)
  • Responsible for complete project sign off.

Job Requirements


  • BSc/MSc or equivalent in Beverage Technologies, process engineering, chemical engineering or equivalent. 

It will be of advantage if the following  conditions are fulfilled:
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience of process engineering / project management of down stream equipment used in Food & Beverage manufacturing in an EPC company
  • Experience in the design and engineering of process equipment for filtration, separation and purification equipment 
  • Experience of working with outside subcontractors including mechanical fabricators, electronic fabricators, Software designers and automation experts.
  • Experience in qualification activities (FAT/SAT) for process equipment in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Direct experience of working in the Wine industry would be an advantage

Position Competencies:
  • Ability to review and comment customer URS and tender documents and evaluate possible technologies or designs to meet customer requirements.
  • Use of MS Office tools, SAP PP & PS, CAD Viewers, Adobe Acrobat 
  • Detailed understanding of filtration separation and purification technologies used in the down stream processing (Direct flow filtration, tangential flow filtration)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current industry guidelines for designing, manufacturing, testing and documenting Food & Beverage process equipment
  • Project management experience for the execution of system projects in accordance to the defined specifications, time schedule and cost would be of advantage but is not necessarily required.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability and willingness to work in a multinational and interdisciplinary team with a medium degree on global travelling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on complex technical / engineering issues at the highest level. Pall internal as well as with the customer.
  • Language skills German and English, preferably a third language as an addition.
