Job Located:  Hauppauge, NY
Starting Hourly rate could range from $25.00 - $30.00+ (depending on experience)
A Production Technician will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of the production equipment. They will assure the product is meeting quality standards as per operating procedure and assure preventative maintenance procedures are value added and effective. Will also troubleshoot and repair equipment issues as necessary.
Essential Job Functions:  Responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of the production equipment (Intercompany, BioPharm Primary and Secondary); Assure quality of the product; Troubleshoot equipment when necessary (may require mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or plc knowledge, skills, and abilities); Perform preventative maintenance to equipment as required; Propose revisions to existing and/or new preventative maintenance procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency; Identify key spare parts; propose spare parts list and quantities; Manage spare parts inventory, purchase spare parts; Support supervisor to assure production schedule is met; Knowledge and ability to move/transport and document universal hazardous and non-hazardous materials from production area ; and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  High School diploma with 5 years manufacturing experience, including maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment or Associates Degree in a technical (mechanical) discipline with 2 years manufacturing experience, including maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.  Position Competencies: Must be detail oriented; have knowledge/experience of preventive maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plc; Manufacturing experience in an ISO or cGMP environment a plus; Excellent read and write skills; Basic math skills; Manufacturing experience; Basic computer knowledge.
Technical Competencies:
  • Mechanical Aptitude - knowledge of basic hand/power tools; knowledge of basis gears, cylinder operation and Maintenance practices; knowledge of centrifugal pump and positive displacement pumps; knowledge of pneumatic systems - actuators, switch (manual, electrically actuated and air pilot)
  • Plumbing - basic piping knowledge (PVC, CPVC & sanitary piping); knowledge of flow valves and flow meters; pressure switches/sensors
  • Electrical - basic understanding of AC/DC circuits (OHM Law); thermocouple, sensory devices, load cells, actuators, solenoid valve & electrical safety (lock out tag out)
  • Thermal Units - working principle of head exchangers, temperature control unit (chillers and heaters)
Must have the ability to conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot all the above systems as necessary.
Other Requirements:  Candidate must be detail oriented and disciplined; Applicable safety trainings such as:  RCRA, DOT, etc.; Experience working in an Environmentally Controlled Environment; Bending, Heavy Lifting, Standing will be required; Gowning, PPE; Respirator may be required.
