POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor-2nd Shift is responsible for supervision and development of a team of associates.  The role drives quality, safety and productivity metrics for an assigned operations department.  Additionally, this role supports the business in growth, profitability, productivity, on-time delivery, and quality in assigned areas.



PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assume responsibility for the safety and security of the facility, e.g., facility opening and closing procedures, hazardous waste management, CPR training, and emergency response trained

  • Responsible for the safety, quality, delivery and productivity for assigned department

  • Manage the daily order flow through the paint department which can include working on the line to cover for absences periodically

  • Supervise team of hourly associates

  • Complete employee relations activities and corrective action in conjunction with Human Resources in a timely and effective manner

  • Ensure personnel are kept informed of conditions, trends, and important activities affecting their area as well as daily results, quality issues and other business needs

  • Manage and develop labor schedule in assigned areas

  • Actively ensure training and development of assigned personnel to maximize productivity across production departments

  • Oversight of facility and hourly associates that are working during off hours

  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Job Requirements



Qualifications


EDUCATION:


  • High School diploma required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.


EXPERIENCE:


  • 3-5 years of production experience.


  • 2+ years of management experience in a manufacturing, distribution or paint shop setting.

    Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience engaging and motivating a team.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and solving problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead others.

  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and excellent problem-solving skills to identify and remedy quality, productivity, delivery, and safety issues

  • Must be willing and able to become first aid certified and be a first responder.

  • Must be willing and able to come in during off shift time periodically for training / team meetings.

  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and 10+ hours days to support production.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
