Position location:  Putnam, CT

Starting at $19.00/hr + depending on experience + shift premium

A Production Operator III is responsible for all operations to designated process lines while adhering to SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity) requirements in all work assignments. A Production Operator III should be proficient in the independent setup, startup, continuous operation, and shutdown of the assigned area process or processes as detailed by Value Stream (VS) such as:

  • Belts, P-Line, Tower, Slitting, and Converting

Essential Job Duties:

An Operator III will substitute in for the area Value Stream Production Technician or Lead Technician, on an as-needed basis, to ensure continuity of manufacturing. This could include:

  • Peer to Peer “on the job” training
  • Maintaining Daily Visual Management Boards
  • Assisting in Troubleshooting
  • Issue Resolution of Manufacturing Equipment
  • Set-up, start-up, continuous operation, and shutdown of assigned VS manufacturing equipment and processes using adherence to Standard Work Instructions (SWI’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and current Good Documentation Practices (cGMP)
  • Monitor Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) media metrics through Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure the highest quality media possible
  • When appropriate, perform adjustments to the process using formally documented and approved Corrective Methods (CMs)
  • Raise any manufacturing process issues in a timely manner to minimize scrap and downtime
  • Contribute to improving manufacturing processes through solution-based ideation for continuous improvements

Additional responsibilities:

  • Calculate and measure correct amounts of materials while preparing mixes
  • Fill tanks with materials and assure all facets of the process are performed per batch requirements
  • Responsible for all documentation related to the process as well as cleaning the equipment and area


Job Requirements



  • High School Diploma or GED with 3-4 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience in an ISO or cGMP environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Detail and Quality focus
  • Must be able to operate manual equipment (e.g., forklift)
  • Kaizen, 5S, and Daily Management experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic PM’s

Physical Requirements:

  • Push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bend during shift
  • Go up and down stairs to operate equipment
