You will support the growth of the SCIEX Liquid Chromatography (LC) business in all aspects of the software development life-cycle. As part of a distributed team, you will bring outstanding communications skills, excellent technical expertise, creative thinking, strong project management and LC domain experience to the organization. You will report to the Senior Manager R&D Software for the SCIEX LC business in Redwood Shores.

  • Oversee translation of user needs to product requirements and specifications
  • Author and lead execution of the validation plan; ensure it supports the validation and commercial strategy
  • Support the technical product manager in the execution of early customer experience (ECE) for concept and product validation
  • Engage as the domain expert across multiple disciplines (HW, SW, SE, Marketing) by gathering data and information to formulate planning for Agile software development
  • Active participant on Agile software development team including: Create and maintain product backlog, Prioritize backlog according to business value on ROI, Create EPICS/User stories with definition, scope and acceptance criteria, Represent the customer, interface and engage with Product Owners and end users, Participate in Agile sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, defect triage and have complete authority to accept or reject stories

Job Requirements


  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related subject
  • 2+ years of experience in liquid chromatography
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills 
  • Understanding of validation requirements for regulated environments
  • Agile/Scrum software development process experience using JIRA or similar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player who is self-motivated, results oriented and continuously looking to improve own skills
  • Good communication skills in architecture design, peer to peer discussions, team dynamics, collaboration and innovation
  • Has track record for delivering results, taking ownership and is accountable of software from design to commercialization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS or PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Experience in Life Science and/or Medical Device
  • Mass Spectrometry expertise
  • Strong business sense with customer focus
