Description

Product Owners lead the delivery of high quality software products based on customer requirements and company vision. 


The Quantrix Product Owner role must have excellent communication and networking skills. Internal and external relationship-building is key.  You will be expected to exhibit the ability to create and sustain professional business associations based on trust, accountability and business acumen. You must also be able to act as the “voice of the customer” when liaising and presenting during internal agile project meetings.


As  Product Owner you are responsible for presenting and demonstrating the functionality of the software products. This includes ensuring that key stakeholders have the details they need about the software and its features to produce successful outcomes. To do this the Product Owner must pro-actively and effectively communicate with Quantrix staff, partners, and the client base.


Core Responsibilities

Based on company priorities and agreed projects:

* Work with key stakeholders to understand the company’s business case and how the product fits into the strategic direction of the organization.

* Maintain a product roadmap that clearly articulates the plan for delivering product features and the benefit that they will provide.

* Maintain a backlog to deliver software products that meet customer needs, in an efficient manner that is acceptable to users while meeting agreed timeframes by the feature teams.

* Determine the best generic design when there are conflicting stakeholder requirements to ultimately deliver the maximum benefit for Quantrix customers.


Work with Product Development teams to:

* Ensure that functionality, security and usability are appropriately balanced to optimise the customer experience when using Quantrix software.

* Ensure that requirements are available to enable development to proceed within agreed timescales.

* Act as arbiter for defect resolution and participate in defect triage meetings.

* Assess impacts of change requests for projects and defect fixes on established workflows.

* Act as the voice of the customer in Agile projects & demonstrate solutions to customers.

* Follow the Quantrix Quality Management System appropriately


Work closely with customer facing parts of the business to:

* Create customer facing materials using a deep understanding of the product functionality and business use of Quantrix products. 

* Ensure products are positioned and presented  to produce an optimal outcome consistent with Quantrix’s best interest.

* Collect feedback from customers to help define product deliverables and to guide future product strategy.

Qualifications

Required Competencies

* Competent in obtaining requirements using interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis
* Demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills including the ability to explain complex scenarios in a simple manner
* Collect multiple streams of data and decompose them into concise specifications
* Ability to work in and with a fast-paced team, and to adapt to change
* Able to express ideas clearly in writing, in online media and orally
* Ability and willingness to research, learn and use new technology and to evaluate same in terms of appropriateness for Quantrix.
* Excellent timekeeping and prioritization skills

Desired Competencies

* Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in related field or equivalent 
* 2+ years’ experience as a Product Owner on an Agile software development team
* Familiarity in using wireframe tools (such as Balsamiq)
* Experience with software tracking tools such as JIRA
* Relevant experience in budgeting, planning and forecasting software technologies
* Prior experience using the Quantrix product stack a plus
* Understanding of software development & quality management system methodologies
