Description

POSITION SUMMARY



This position is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of the Gas filtration product line within the Microelectronics organization.  In direct coordination with Sales, Operations, Product Planning and R&D, this individual will focus on driving growth and profitability of the assigned product line(s) on a global basis.  In-depth knowledge of customers, applications, competitors, and product will be required to support the local regions to meet/exceed their targets



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Ownership of Product Line



  • Outline and drive the team to achieve the growth and Gross Margin goals for their products

  • Develop product line plan: 1-3 year vision with a commercial focus. Compliments Pall Micro E’s overall strategic plan and product planning road map

  • Support annual Pall strategic plan by assisting with VOC, market sizing and product / competitor evaluations

  • Work with Engineering and Operations to drive and support initiatives to reduce costs of existing products through Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE), location changes and / or supplier changes

  • Own product SKUs and lifecycle management. Lead SKU rationalization as necessary

  • Own process for any type of product changes: including change notification, manufacturing support, etc.

Opportunity Development, Sales Support & Training



  • Get to Gemba (point of impact/field) to really understand customer, competitor and market dynamics

  • Understand pain points. Assist with product positioning and help form plan of attack for opportunities

  • Develop comprehensive materials and tools to help sales win opportunities. These include fight sheets, value selling documents, ROI/TCO tools, solution guides, etc. Tools & materials must be relevant to local markets and incorporate input globally

  • Create/update training materials – topics include applications, products, competitive assessments, etc.

  • Provide training on key areas to sales and other customer facing groups and develop on-line testing and verification of competencies, etc.

  • As needed, assist with site visits, tailored materials, etc., to pursue opportunities

Maintenance of Line/Escalations - Quality



  • Lead activities to address product updates / changes, and drive items to completion

  • Prioritize list against competing items to provide direction to Engineering

  • Assure critical MOL items are incorporated into new product development

  • Monitor the quality (and escalations) of the product and drive to resolution any issues that arise

Campaigns and Marketing



  • Recommend and assist as needed to generate leads

  • Assist the Marketing team in generating content and messaging for target verticals

Price



  • Set list price.  Own price in-region / globally and help regions execute locally

  • Develop price strategy annually. Develop strategy early in budget process

  • Assist regions with root cause and counter measures on price misses.

  • Assist Micro E Price Champion on as needed basis

Competitive Evaluation and Response



  • In depth understanding of competitors, their products and strategies with an eye to understanding their positioning and plans of attack

  • Drive actionable commercial responses to competitive moves

  • Longer term, recommend strategies and products, as required to counter competitive moves

Product Development and Product Launches



  • Use VOC and other Gemba evidence to develop a perspective on unmet customer needs. Proactively relay these to Product Planners on a continuous basis. 

  • Assist Product Planners with new product development (e.g., help build TG1 business case)

  • Help choose launch customers / help monitor customer feedback

  • Forecast demand and work with Ops on inventory/logistics

  • Develop global / regional plans for launch and develop internal support material

  • Develop target customer segments. Review/approve marketing materials, and develop appropriate demand generation campaigns

REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelors (ideally in a technical or engineering discipline) 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Master’s in Business Administration a plus

  • Excellent understanding of the key semiconductor gas applications

  • Able to speak Japanese to communicate with locals

  • Over 5 years of progressive experience in a commercial environment, including over 2 years of experience in a product or marketing management role
