We are seeking a highly goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, and motivated individual to take on the role of Global Product Manager, Biologics.  The Global Product Manager, Biologics will be the driving force in developing our vision and realizing the growth our separations sciences products (liquid chromatography, primarily) that are targeted specifically on the growing biotherapeutics industry (e.g. monoclonal antibodies).  This individual   establishes clear business justifications for projects, represents the voice of customers to prioritize product requirements, manage product lifecycle, define value propositions, and ensures quality products that meet their needs are delivered to customers around the world. A strong technical understanding of liquid chromatography and a basic understanding of biologics workflows is essential for success. Your technical knowledge and vision in customer-facing scenarios and your representation in industry conferences will enhance our organization’s technical presence in the industry.
The candidate will need to be able to deliver oral presentations on the use of liquid chromatography in the context of biologics-related workflows and should be expected to assist in supporting customers and sales with technical challenges related to these areas.  Previous experience in Product Management and market research best practices is highly desired, but not required.  The candidate will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment in a lean organization and must be willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure the job gets completed. 
Main position objectives: 
  • Take ownership and drive decisions for the Biologics portfolio of liquid chromatography products (HPLC and UHPLC)
  • Establish our vision for new product development within this field, and work cross-functionally with other departments to take this vision and turn it into a commercial reality
  • Manage the entire product line life cycles for multiple brands within this portfolio
  • Specify market requirements from all new product development projects supported by on-going market research with customers and sales
  • Work cross-functionally with R+D, Sales, and Operations to support the execution of projects and manage the existing portfolio of products 
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing to generate technically-sound and practical biologics-related marketing literature (print and web-based)
  • Manage product development road map for the biologics-related products to ensure portfolio alignment and meet the needs of customers across different industries
  • Perform on-going voice-of-customer (VOC) interactions with key internal and external customers globally to understand problems, obtain feedback on new and existing products, and identify solutions
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for current and future products
  • Synthesize customer input to deliver to product development team and identify user and buyer personas, user needs, and product roadmap
  • Educate sales team on latest trends in biologics-related workflows and current products through live and recorded training
  • Provide leadership and direction for all internal associates and external partners responsible for the project to ensure projects are successfully completed on time and consistent with organizational goals
  • Organize and drive activities cross functionally related to global product launch, including developing positioning, sales training, pricing and collateral development to ensure product launch execution
  • Define and to drive a long-term product roadmap for both new and existing products, globally
  • Monitors the product quality for the biologics product lines and develop countermeasures when targets for product quality are not met

Job Requirements


  • B.S. in Chemistry or life science with 5 years hands-on biologics experience, M.S. in Chemistry or life science with 3 years hands-on biologics laboratory experience, or Ph.D. in Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry with one year of hands-on laboratory experience in a biologics-related field.
  • Prior experience in a Product Management role is highly desirable, but not a requirement.
  • A strong practical working knowledge of biologics-related workflows and hands-on experience in liquid chromatographic instrumentation like HPLC-UV, UHPLC-UV, and LC/MS.
  • Strong fundamental general Biochemistry knowledge, as well as a thorough understanding of experimental design and troubleshooting workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with other chromatography and sample preparation techniques is desired.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills and experience are vital.
  • Must be able to interpret scientific data including chromatograms, Mass spec date, quantitative results and effectively communicate it to large groups. Strong presentation skills (e.g. Powerpoint) are essential.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Ability to adapt to and handle competing departmental needs
  • Travel potentially up to 30%.
