The Product Manager for Lab Microbiology business will have accountability to set the strategy and grow the Lab Microbiology business and it’s product lifecycle management working in partnership with the Lab Marketing Director and the various other functions particularly Sales and Operations.

The incumbent is responsible for defining and executing effective marketing programs and initiatives to maintain and support the growth of the Pall Lab Microbiology portfolio. The PM, working with business unit colleagues, develops and implements a plan to meet global revenue, pricing and volume objectives for the Microbiology portfolio. The PM must possess, and continually develop, an understanding of customer needs and requirements, and the dynamics of how to maximize the business. This requires leverage and daily interaction with the Lab Product Marketing team, global sales, R&D and/or PE, operations and service leaders to meet growth objectives associated with his/her portfolio.
  • Uses understanding of technology and competitive position of defined technology in Lab to identify applications, markets and business segments that provide Microbiology opportunities for profitable growth. Develops core product marketing plans and gives clear input to strategic and commercial plans for assigned product(s). 
  • Works closely with the field identify opportunities and adapt product as required to meet business demands using product engineering, operations and R&D as necessary.
  • Leads product life cycle management, including managing all existing products pricing and quality/OTD, continuously improving position & profitability of current products, and Rationalization of Product Line/Pricing to drive portfolio profitability.
  • Serves as key liaison with operations, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and regional Marketing for assigned product(s). 
  • Sets annual direction for pricing, promotion, quality and business improvements, and provides direction to Product Marketing team for assigned product(s).
  • Actively tracks and analyzes global sales growth, gross margins, supply issues, quality issues, etc.; for the Microbiology business. 

Job Requirements


  • The qualified candidate is required to have at least 5 years’ experience in a commercial role and existing understanding of the Pall Microbiology Lab products is an advantage 
  • Bachelor Degree in Microbiology, preferably a Masters Degree
  • Possesses/develops a strong understanding of the Product Commercialization Process, including stage gate development practices.
  • Strong skills in oral and written communication to advocate for the defined portfolio with customers, sales and marketing peers, distributors, and management. Strong abilities to lead presentations and/or training. 
  • Flexibility to travel of reasonable duration (1-2 weeks), in conjunction with the travel requirements (estimated at up to 30%) and this includes domestic and international trips.
  • Ability to implement and effectively manage multiple projects during a given time frame.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets.
