Description

Position Summary:

The primary role of this position is to be responsible for maintenance of compliance approvals in Agile for existing products, approval of new item requests, country extensions, product blocking, assemble technical files, technical support for the compliance engineers, procurement and management of outside standards and coordinating departmental ISO documentation.

This role will work in Hach R&D organization in partnership with other R&D functions and business units to meet the prescribed design requirements, schedule, and production readiness.  This role is under Danaher Development Center (DDC) and work for Hach company, for detail about Danaher and Hach, please visit www.danaher.com and www.hach.com.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Researches and determines compliance requirements for new components and assure the compliance requirements are met prior to the release of new parts, including:



    • Review of engineering drawings


    • Completion and release of compliance related component and material inspection forms


    • Review of item master entries for proper compliance information


  • Coordinates the purchasing, updating and location of national and international standards per ISO requirements.


  • Is responsible for assuring continuing product compliance



    • Support point of contact for regulatory agency (ATEX, NRTL, FDA, FCC, 3A NSF, NB, etc.) audits and submittals, to include the addressing of any compliance related observations or findings.


    • Support ATEX point of contact will include:




      • The effective coordination of activities with respect to equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres;


      • The liaison with the issuer of the Ex certificate (when not issued by the manufacturer) with respect to any proposed change to the design defined in the Ex certificate and the technical documentation;


      • The liaison with the body responsible for the verification of the quality system with respect to intended updating of the quality system. (NOTE: for “substantial” updating relevant to the type of protection, or any update having consequences on product compliance)


    • Requests or performs (depending on work load) yearly product compliance audits, this includes determining which issues or components are to be audited on a product


    • Reviews ECO’s on compliant products to assure compliance is maintained


    • Coordinates changes to safety reports with safety agencies when called upon to do so by manufacturing, this means support the request for getting quotes and time estimates.


  • Creates compliance reports for the technical files. This includes:



    • Compiling the various EMC reports into a master report and creating the technical files, which include EMC and safety test reports, product drawings, BOM’s manuals and DOC certificates.


  • May assists compliance engineers with safety and EMC testing, the assembly and configuration of products for testing and researching compliance matters such as agency product and component listing information and technical letters


  • Supports Maintenance of Compliance Measurement and Test Equipment, and Procedures



    • Supports revisions to and maintenance of departmental ISO documentation, this includes writing some work instructions


    • Supports coordination calibration and repair of test equipment assigned to the compliance department.

Job Requirements



Qualifications



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.


  • Associates degree in electronics or an equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred


  • Minimum of 5 years combined experience in at least three or more of the following skills:



    • Electronic trouble shooting and/or design


    • Regulatory agency interaction


    • Hach’s compliance system


    • Product testing and report writing.


    • PC applications (word processing, scanners, spread sheets, windows, data bases, LAN's).


    • Product auditing


  • Ability to design, develop and implement regulatory guidelines for an operating business roadmap


  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.)
