The Procurement Manager is responsible for the development of overall materials strategy, including purchasing and material productivity to support multi sites. This role is responsible for driving cross functionality to ensure timely execution of materials and cost goals. This individual must possess outstanding cross-functional leadership skills, strong negotiations skills and the ability to develop and effectively implement counter measures to address critical issues.

  • Develops and drives supply chain strategy and objectives, including procurement, cost reduction, LCR strategy, new material introduction, supplier selection, inventory and transportation
  • Manages team to partner with quality to reduce internal and external PPM, CAPAs, and out of box failures. Support quality through management of supplier quality rating programs, CAPA /SCAR resolution, and supplier audits. 
  • Provide strategic direction to Commodity Managers / Procurement team.
  • Leads the procurement function to ensure leveraging of purchasing strength to support operations excellence and materials cost reduction goals
  • Develops necessary contracts to support robust material flow including such things as: inventory replenishment systems, Kanban, etc. with partnership with supply chain team
  • Conducts market research, competitive analysis, overall market trends to quantify needed changes, improvements in material and commodity management strategy
  • Actively engaged to understand materials contribution to production issues, quality constraints, and sales issues and actively participate in improvements and solutions
  • Develops team to ensure broad skills and experiences to drive talent development
  • Develops and manage departmental KPI strategy
  • Manages vendors and suppliers to maximize working capital, inventory, quality and delivery.
  • Develops new supply chain sources to drive competitive advantage through differentiation and understanding of market drivers
  • Provide NPI supplier support through contract management
  • Ensure department’s understanding and compliance with all procurement domestic and international laws including import/export compliance
  • Performs other duties and task as assigned by supervisor/manager

Job Requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in progressive materials management or applicable experience
  • 3+ years of experience with and practical understanding of the use of continuous improvement tools
  • 3+ years of experience managing complex projects.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, MSOffice suite knowledge/experience required
  • Ability/willingness to travel domestically and globally


  • Master’s degree
  • APICS certification
  • Experience working in a global organization
  • 2+ years of experience either managing people directly or indirectly, including remote associates / teams
  • MRP experience
  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement efforts, in both quality systems and products.
  • Proven ability to lead a diverse team, inspire followership and drive performance excellence.
