Description

The Procurement Agent will be responsible for procurement of chemicals in country that are regionally/locally sourced, and will support Global Category Managers in executing on the global sourcing strategies of globally negotiated items.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure local supplier quality, delivery, cost, lead time, inventory, cost performance, and risk mitigation goals are met
  • Perform negotiations with suppliers for contracts terms and conditions. Prepare contract agreements and other documentations as needed
  • Execute on projects that will achieve year over year price savings within the managed category
  • Responsible for vendor set ups, new product requests and product updates and vendor master maintenance within ChemTreat’s ERP system.
  • Develop an overall supplier base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spending and technologies o Develop and deliver clear category management plans, fully aligned with Global Category Managers o Oversee supplier related activities and monitor supplier performances. 
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve performance related issues.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Global Category Managers to identify in-country sources of supply for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct commodity specific competitor and industry analysis to identify cost, material selection, manufacturing techniques and materials sourcing to improve the company’s competitive position
  • Stay informed of changing environmental, social responsibility and diversity standards, regulations, and laws.
  • Embrace the Danaher Business System (DBS), and promote a continuous improvement culture to support business growth.
  • Monitor ongoing benefits tracking and compliance assessments to achieve optimal value and cost-savings.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Leadership skills in influential leadership situations 
  • Proficiency in English and the language of the country
  • Negotiations acumen
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and directional changes
  • Clear, concise communicator, able to translate complex messages into commonly understood terms
  • Strong consultative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Strong computer knowledge in Microsft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, etc). ERP experience preferred
  • Ability to develop and establish solid and trustworthy relationships
  • Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and within corporate procurement.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance
  • Sourcing experience preferred, preferably in the Chemical Industry
