Description

We
are currently seeking a Principal
Design Engineer
to support our growing business.

Position
Objective: 

As Principal Design Engineer within Pall
Aerospace, you will be responsible for the delivery of bespoke, high technology
filtration, separation and sensing products to multiple platforms.  You’ll be expected to lead the activities of
a cross-functional team of technical professionals to provide technical
direction, project management, and leadership for your assigned programmes.  You will also be expected to work closely
with sales, programme management, research, development, and external
suppliers, as you bring your products to volume manufacture in our factory.

This is a great opportunity for an

Role
and Duties:


•     Development and mentoring of more
junior engineers


•     Delivery of right first time
design definition


•     Design verification via analysis
and calculation


•     Continuously Improve the NPI
process, utilising the Danaher Business System, world class lean toolbox and
kaizen activity


•     Get involved in our Engineering Excellence
Programme of cultivating an innovative environment through use of visual
management, virtual meeting spaces and VR design reviews


•     Accountability for airworthiness
and technical performance


•     Build continued expertise, through
acting as subject matter expert and potentially a Certification
Validation Engineer


•     Opportunity to travel the world,
working in partnership with our major airframe, engine and airline partners,
from bid support, right through to installation and support

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications / Experience: 




•     Degree or equivalent in Mechanical
or Aerospace Engineering with strong experience in Engineering Design / Project
Engineering, including significant experience of Aerospace New Product
Introduction experience




•     Experienced in spreadsheet
analysis, report writing, and 3-D solid modeling software applications (preferably
CATIA V5 however not essential)




•     Familiarity
with aerospace materials and common manufacturing processes




•     Subject
matter expert in fluid dynamics, sensing or hydraulics systems




•     Experienced
in engineering project management




•     Basic
knowledge of stress analysis, CFD and modelling




•     Familiar
with AS9100 and engineering design requirements (e.g. DO-160)
