General Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Engineering & Facilities.  Under general direction the Plant Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing support of facilities and engineering control systems.  Responsible for direct line support of engineering systems that support manufacturing options. Create and implement transformative processes and systems that improve quality delivery times while reducing machine down time and costs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor the operation of the instrumentation, control and engineering systems for operations
- Define, develop, implement and maintain NEW processes, equipment, layouts and instructions
- Work collectively with multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate in achievement of objectives
- Direct daily support or functional operations and engineering groups
- Monitor internal staff and contractors to insure all maintenance and repairs meet OEM and industry standards
- Make improvement recommendations for existing systems, process and equipment
- Investigate systems and equipment root causes of failure via failure mode effect analysis
- Comply with all OSHA & EHS standards for environmental, manufacturing and facilities
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work and new assignments. Latitude for independent judgment.

Job Requirements


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 6 to 10 years of experience as a Plant or Process Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering degree: IE, CHemE, ME
- Experience in a complex manufacturing environment preferred, chemical industry a plus
- Self-starter with experience working in a team based customer focus service organization
- Communicate effectively (oral and written) with all employees, contractors, vendors
- Strong project management skills, ability to multitask and meet project deadlines
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints
- Experience with CMMS or EAMS a plus
- Working experience in a progressive EHS based environment
- Intermediate PC and software skills
- Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires, the ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer, may also require the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
