Description

The Plant Manager will lead the Wood Dale plant to successfully enhance and implement the global manufacturing strategy by supporting production of $100M in sales. 

Since the Wood Dale plant is the flagship equipment site for the business, this position will be responsible for creating sustainable competitive advantage and operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery and cost driven by leveraging not only the Danaher Business System (DBS), but also by driving cross-functional collaboration.  Accomplishing these objectives will require the implementation and continuous improvement of lean manufacturing processes as well as the development a highly efficient and effective organization, culture and talent base.

Key Responsibilities: 
• Build and Manage a best in class Operation team at Wood Dale
• Sustain and add to the organizational culture where the use of daily management and continuous process improvement is fully embraced as the way to achieve sustainable competitive advantage
• Create and effectively implementing sustainable business processes that result in improved leverage of working capital.
• Implement sustainable business processes that result in lower product costs and operating expenses.
• Create and effectively implementing business processes that meet customer expectation and ensure reliability of product shipments.
• Lead the operational culture with safety at the forefront of every business decision
• Proven results in improved product quality.
• Communicate expectations regarding performance and hold people accountable for results.  
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively to support team to achieve overall safety, quality, delivery and cost improvement goals.
• Aptitude to react quickly to resolve/correct potential issues and target misses is a must. 
• Skilled in developing a "best practices" benchmarked process & system management for this endeavor is a key imperative.  
• Commited to being part of an integrated organization is mandatory.  The needs, priorities & goals of the organization must be the "vision" requirements in support of this critical endeavor.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations/Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field is required; MBA strongly desired.  
• Strong collaboration skills specifically with business functional leaders to support revenue growth, customer satisfaction and enterprise efficiency.
• Preferably at least five years of manufacturing management or ; Prior Plant/Operations daily management, process development and organizational development experience in a Lean operations environment, preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of success in using DBS / Lean  (e.g. – 5S, visual management, standard work and kaizen) to drive sustainable competitive advantage through the achievement of operational excellence in product quality, delivery, cost and working capital leverage.
• Strong analytical and problem solving used in an assembly/manufacturing environment 
• Project management leadership as it relates to annual Policy Deployment (PD) initiatives, daily Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), Daily Management and tactical projects.
• Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills.
• Leads by example and motivates people so as to create a challenging, empowering, and collaborative working environment.
• Financial skills including cost modeling, cost analysis, make vs. buy analysis and P&L analysis; Develop and ensure monthly execution to budget targets, understanding the intricacies of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
• Experience in management of materials within an assembly/manufacturing environment strongly preferred
• Experience in managing large, diverse teams of engineers, production managers, materials managers and EHS leaders
