Description

The Pathology Imaging LIS Integration Specialist role is to achieve Leica sales and profitability goals for the Digital Pathology and Imaging Systems through the implementation of integration tools for DP to connect with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) providers. He / She will support the achievement of the Eastern Territories annual sales and margin objectives while ensuring an optimized customer experience through an optimized LIS sales and support experience.





Major Responsibilities:


Achieve monthly, quarterly, annual unit and revenue goals for Digital Pathology in the Eastern U.S.

Upstream selling activities within the PI market associated with building and demonstrating value of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) integration offerings. 

Support large regional team efforts by serving as a technical liaison between the customer, the SU, and the BU to advance PI deals involving LIS integration components

Demonstrate technical expertise and know-how regarding ePath products integrating with LISs such as Cerner, EPIC, Sunquest, Soft, and homegrown systems.

Hold BU accountable for progress, action, and completion of custom LIS projects and closing out backlog integrations to successfully recognize revenue. 

Lead IT to IT conversations to successfully ideate and design technical integrations of ePathology products with customers’ LIS systems. 

Saliently convey unique value proposition of Leica PI LIS and connectivity offering to potential customers

Maintain understanding of competitive landscape of LIS offerings of PI vendors

Achieve LIS target purchase order and sales goals

Capture added value associated with large scale custom LIS offerings by maximizing customer willingness to pay. 

Working with direction from sales leadership with input from the Manager of Applications, this role will provide additional leadership and work effort towards the LIS integration administration, laboratory instrument communications management, LIS interfacing, and database management.

Specific Accountabilities in a collaborative role with Manager of Applications and the Business Unit Software Product Manager are: Integration feasibility, Quality Assurance (Attention to Detail, Software Validation and Documentation), Project Management and LIS-Event Management.

Support the day-to-day operations of the LIS and will serve as one of the primary contacts for lab users regarding any laboratory IT systems.

Manage routine and urgent communications with LIS vendors.

Manage LIS project timelines and budgets.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Education: 


BA/BS in Life Sciences or equivalent


Understanding of IHC and Histology marketplace or a related discipline



Experience/Skills:


Laboratory Information Systems administration/development: 3 years


Sales of Laboratory Information Systems administration and development in a clinical laboratory environment is required


Laboratory Information System implementation and/or integration preferred


Instrument management middleware administration is required. Experience with Data Innovations Instrument Manager is a plus (ASTM)


Electronic Medical/Health Record (EMR or EHR) Systems interfacing is a plus (HL-7)


Proficient knowledge of network hardware and network routing


Proficient knowledge of Windows Server environments including Active Directory and Exchange


PMP certification preferred



Desired Education, Experience, Skills


Education: 


BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent


Understanding of IHC, Histology, Pathology marketplace or a related discipline



Experience/Skills:


Soft, Cerner, EPIC, and Sunquest and/or Anatomic Pathology LIS experience is a plus.




Travel: Must have valid driver’s license.  60% travel
