Description

Pantone LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary or X-Rite Incorporated, a Danaher Company, is looking for an experienced Digital Director for our New Jersey office. 

Position Overview: The Pantone Digital Director is responsible for the definition and execution of the Pantone digital transformation by leading a dedicated team complemented with external resources, taking start-up mindset approach with high-return on user insight based on quick experimentation. This role would have the mission to establish Pantone as the leading provider of color digital solutions, driving profitable growth within its overarching brand positioning as the universal language of color. This position is for a multi-dimensional person who is passionate about technology, creativity and innovation, as well as grounded in business, strategy and product management in the dynamic world of color and appearance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Direction

Working with the Digital Product Manager, defines a defensible and differentiated positioning and overall framework that provides meaningful value for the customer base and technology partners, based on:

* Mapping customer base and identifying most attractive customer segments and applications

* Understanding the relevant competitive landscape for different verticals and applications

* Leveraging existing physical and digital color assets and solutions using those assets

* Flagging ecosystem partners that can expand or reinforce its adoption

Solution Development

Drives the development of the digital product roadmap, based on the following principles

* Agility - Drives quick innovation based on fast cycles of experimentation and insight, to solve the target market explicit and implicit needs and gaps

* Scalability - Drives development of foundational blocks (API, color libraries, analytic engine, etc.) to build valuable full solutions for the target market for both direct and OEM deployment

* Open Innovation - Identifies and partners with third parties that can develop new functionality and/or can bring existing functionality to complement, expand and/or enhance Pantone’s own digital offering

Commercialization and Delivery

Owns the definition and implementation of the commercial and delivery models, in collaboration and alignment with relevant Pantone and X-Rite functions

* Monetization - Defines business models to drive sustainable, profitable revenue directly from digital offering (direct selling and OEM licensing) and indirectly by promoting incremental physical product sales

* OEM Licensing Enablement - Aligns with OEM Licensing team on priorities and opportunities, to inform requirements and priorities in digital roadmap

* Web Dovetailing - Provides and receives input and support to/from Web Team to improve current web sites and build new web platform to ensure the digital offering can be marketed, sold and delivered to the target market with a world-class user experience

* Launch Excellence – Works with Marketing team to develop and execute best-in-class launch plans

Operating Cycle

Working with Finance, defines winning KPI's; sets up stretch targets and tracking mechanism; and establishes recurrent reviews to monitor results, capture learnings and drives course adjustment to win

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

* 8+ years experience in product management, product marketing, or product development for digital or software products

* Experience in building partnerships and connectivity with technology providers and open innovation partners

* High digital literacy - web applications, software development

* Knowledge / experience with design market and color expertise

* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related degree. Advanced degree and/or MBA is preferred.

Reporting Structure

* Will report directly to the Pantone GM

* Will have Digital Product Manager as direct report

* Will work closely with Finance Lead and dedicated R&D developer(s)
