Located at the UK office to manage a specific sales territory and clients within budget constraints to achieve highest possible return on sales costs spent, achieving regional sales target that contributes to the overall corporate sales and strategic objectives. Supervises the daily activities & sets priorities of the NSD, EMEA team to support achievement of assigned targets.
Key Relationships:
Molecular Devices European Order Management, Service and Sales teams, management team and North America Operations teams.  Internal and External stakeholders throughout Molecular Devices (UK) Ltd and the Danaher Corporation.
Direct Territory Deliverables
  • Achieve Annual Quota in designated territory.
  • Achieve Monthly Quota in designated territory.
  • Provide prompt and accurate forecasts as requested.
  • Participate to programmed funnel reviews and marketing reviews when requested.Provide all reports when requested by manager within set timescales/deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain accurate Territory Plan.
  • To identify, qualify, develop, support and close sales of the Molecular Devices system portfolio (Bioresearch = Single Mode Absorbance Plate readers, Threshold Immunoassay System & Axon Instruments and associated software and reagents. Maintain & develop revenue through channel partners.
  • Prepare and present basic product demonstrations and training to existing and potential customers.
  • Develop, update and maintain to a high degree of accuracy and integrity, the prospect database (SFDC) and existing customer list and monitor sales growth.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets while remaining within the established expense budget and providing customer satisfaction.
  • Close liaison with the rest of the team to ensure seamless customer support from initial interest to post-sales support.
  • Maintain a high level of technical and application competence of Molecular Devices products.
  • Monitor competitor’s activities, products, and potential new or improved applications or product extensions.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of Molecular Devices’ marketing programs.
  • Provide monthly revenue and product forecasting, quarterly plans of action, status, and expense reports.
  • Attend trade shows, seminars and workshops as well as maintaining customer contacts to develop and improve sales skills. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Uses sound judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
  • Explains information, conveys performance expectations and handles sensitive issues.
  • Recruits and hires strong people who will contribute positively, will excel and have a passion to win in the Danaher culture.
  • Sets, communicates and monitors individual and team performance expectations and development priorities.
  • Understands how to motivate the team and coaches to set and meet stretch versus strain goals.

Qualifications

Person Specification:
The jobholder should possess the qualifications, experience and skills set out below to meet the requirements of the role as well as embrace the Danaher Values:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
Experience:
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer relationships, whilst maintaining a high degree of sales focus.
  • Experience via telesales or face to face of promoting and selling scientific equipment and or complex products in a professional and intellectual market.
  • Experience of managing channel partners.
  • 1 year+ supervisory experience.
Skills:
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in areas of building relationships, persuasion and research.
  • Good working knowledge of CRM and MS Office including word and excel required.
  • Be self-motivated with demonstrative interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A positive outlook and resilience.
  • Ability to work in a constructive way with colleagues.
  • Must be able to conduct sale conversations in English. Additional French or German is desirable.
  • Supervisory skills would be desirable.
Measures of performance:
  • Achieve assigned sales target for the territory
  • Maintenance of the CRM.
  • Understanding & achievement of key performance indicators required to maintain business as targeted levels.
