Description

Main responsibilities and key activities:

o    Responsible for maintaining and administering our company's computer networks. Primary duties will include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary.

o    Individual will also be working closely with the users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

o    Need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. Need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.

o    Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.

o    Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.

o    Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.

o    Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.

o    Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.

o    Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.

o    Conferring with network users about solving existing system problems.

o    Operating master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems.

o    Coordinating computer network access and use.

o    Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.

o    Analyzing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network problems in accordance with published Service Level Agreements at L3 level.

o    Reporting network status to key stakeholders

o    Coordinate network hardware/software implementation with Business Units and clients to ensure limited

o    impact to production network through appropriate change control procedures.

o    Ensuring no impact to production due to change procedures by peer reviewing all the change scripts made

o    by team members.


Job Requirements



Qualifications

Qualifications and professional knowledge:

o    Bachelor degree in Information Technology related field of study with a network engineering focus.

o    Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.

o    Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.

o    Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.

o    Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.

o    Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.

o    Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection.

o    Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.

o    Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and third party.

o    A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.

o    Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

o    Dependable and flexible when necessary.

o    Network security experience.

o    LAN and WAN experience.

o    Experience: 2+ years in LAN networking using Cisco equipment and configuration.

o    Up-to-date knowledge about IT infrastructure components (servers, networking, security, storage & data management).

o    Critical thinking skills for effective problem analysis and resolution are required.

o    Knowledge and Expertise in any of these streams would be a plus –

o    Cisco Routers, Cisco, Juniper and Cisco PIX Firewalls, Routing Protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF and RIP), VLANS, Inter-VLAN Routing, Paulo alto, VoIP & VPN, IPSec/SSL, Wireless, Load Balancing, Microsoft technologies including server 2000, 2003 and Linux administration.

o    CCNA Certified is a must

o    CCNP certification will be an added advantage
