Description

  • JOB SUMMARY:

    Able to build, repair and modify high-quality injection mold tooling from complex part and mold designs. Work with others in completing required Preventative Maintenance on Production Molds.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Train and guide assigned helpers as needed when repairing or maintaining Molds.
    • Attend kick-off meetings to improve knowledge of Mold design and mold build techniques.
    • Plan and schedule jobs to meet quoted hours and delivery dates, Prepare needed prints and instructions to coordinate helpers as needed.
    • Clearly communicate and explain the most efficient method of manufacture to others.
    • Complete paperwork or instructions for additional details to be performed for mold assembly.
    • Assess completed jobs for improvements with necessary personnel for future efficiency
    • Maintain a clean work area
    • Clean equipment and machines after use and communicate any necessary maintenance to Shop Supervisor
    • Work overtime per delivery and production requirements
    • Additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Shop Supervisor or ME Group.

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    •High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum one to five years of work experience as a Journeyman.

    Knowledge and skills:

    •Knowledge of plastic injection molds and mold making practices
    •Must be efficient in operating all manual equipment related to Mold Repair/Mold Making such as Bridgeport Mill, Toolmaker lathe, Surface Grinder, Carbide Cutter Grinder, Drill Press, Band Saw.
    •Efficient at programming and running shop machinery (CNC machining centers, High-Speed-Milling, EDM sinker, WEDM a plus, etc.)
    •Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer skills, for inter-office email and job communication
    • CNC programming skills [MasterCAM experience a definite plus]
    • Prefer to own his own tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Gages, etc.
    • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
    • Attention to detail and pride in your work
    • Work cooperatively with fellow employees in a team environment
    • Thorough knowledge of inspection equipment and techniques
    • Use geometry, trigonometry, shop mathematics and calculator proficiently
    • Ability to manage multiple projects

    Physical requirements/abilities:

    * Ability to lift 25 lbs.
