Description



  • Work in a cross-functional environment to aid in the development of Class II Medical Devices that will be used in the Dental Industry.


  • Provide general support to Engineering dept. in the area of 3D modeling, 2D Drawings.


  • Perform Stress Analyses, (via “hand-calculations” and “FEA simulation”), to assure components conform to applicable safety standards


  • Aid in the setup and execution of “Verification Testing” on Mechanical Components/Assemblies.


  • Participate is cross-functional DFMEA’s


  • Participate in Sub-Assembly and Top-Level Design Reviews.


  • Interface with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to address “Product-Related” quality issues.


  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Qualifications:

General Knowledge of Mechanical Systems and Mechanics of Materials will be required for this internship. The intern must be able to demonstrate good “Problem Solving” skills as well.


Education and/or Experience:


  • Completed at least 1 year of a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams is desirable


  • Proficient in Solidworks (creation of 3D Modeling and 2D Drawings)


  • Exposure to FEA simulation is a plus


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


  • Current Sophomore, Junior  with a GPA: 3.0 or higher
