Mechanical eNGINEER for Construction & DeSIGN (F/M)


POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supporting operations and R&D. The Engineer will develop, improve and design our customized solutions as well as mechanical parts of instruments, work close with Operations and R&D to assure smooth production of products with highest obtainable quality and productivity.  Maintain product responsibility throughout the product life cycle.


Location and Report:

This position is based in Martinsried / Munich and reports to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering and Operations.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Develop and design customized frames and traversing beams for our customers

  • Develop and design housings and mechanical parts of instruments

  • Create technical drawings with SolidWorks

  • Assist Operations and Engineering to construct and test prototypes
  • Skilled craftsmanship
  • Maintain technical documentation

  • Evaluate, trouble shoot and solve product yield and quality issues. Interface with multiple disciplines to resolve problems

  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors leading to root cause and irreversible corrective action.  Exercise judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Affinity to solve mechanical problems

  • Knowledge in design and in technical drawing

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks favorable

  • Team-oriented and innovative personality

  • Affinity with Optoelectronics would be a strong plus

  • Fluency in German and English

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Optical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline
