Description

Area of Responsibilities:

 

Team Member

-      Works on a cross-functional team through all phases of the design and development process.

-      Leads or supports others to execute design changes to commercially released product.

Execute Design & Development

-      Works closely with other team members to generate design concepts and develop detail designs which meet design requirements.

-      Works closely with other members of the team and external suppliers to design and develop optimized designs that will result in high quality and low cost products which are easily manufactured.

-      Works closely with other members of the team and external suppliers to produce functional prototypes for evaluation.

-      Works closely with other members of the team to perform basic design analysis (tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE's, simulated use testing, etc.).

-      Works closely with other members of the team to perform component and assembly qualifications.

-      Works closely with other members of the team to develop verification/validation plans, executes testing and documents results.

-      Works closely with other members of the team to maintain and update relevant documentation to comply with the quality management system.

Intellectual Property

-      Applies a basic understanding of patents.

-      Contributes to business value through innovation and patent filing.

Project Management

-      With guidance, develops and executes project plans including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and contingency planning.

-      Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience

Required – 1-3 years related work experience.

Preferred – Medical device experience.
Education Requirements

Required – Bachelor degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred – Advanced Degree in field.

-      Mechanical Design – Expertise regarding mechanical processes and capabilities that impact design.
