The Biologics Business Unit of Molecular Devices, LLC is home for the ForteBio label-free biosensors and the clone selection portfolio of products.   • Key Deliverables: This position will be responsible for delivering key insights into label-free binding assay methods employed by life sciences market across pharmaceutical and other industrial companies, and academic and government research. Such insights will help us develop new products that address emerging needs, target new applications to enhance utilization of our products.
  • Level of Accountability: This position will be accountable for the operation of Molecular Devices products  in a laboratory to create new application methods, publication of applications collateral and contribution to our growth.
  • Reporting structure: the position will report into Vice President, Marketing for the biologics business unit.
  • Manager profile: The Applications Manager is a technology leader within the marketing organization providing technical guidance to new product development and commercial teams on emerging opportunities. The person will collaborate with other application managers, product managers and R&D team to accomplish their key deliverables, and be the lead manager for a defined market segment. The person will train and guide the sales and field application scientist teams on application areas and be the lead voice in the company for their market segment.
  • Development Opportunities: The position is at the cross-section of R&D, Marketing, Sales and Support functions within the company and thus enables development in any one of several disciplines within Molecular Devices and across Danaher.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage function of the demo laboratory, and external technical collaborations with key 3rd party experts.
  • Deliver application notes describing use of our products in existing applications as well as extend into new applications within life sciences R&D.
  • Coordinate market research efforts to gain key insights into the latest advances in R&D areas relevant to our business, and, support development of business strategy for the biologics business unit.
  • Support, train and guide sales and field application scientist global teams on our technology and products to aid sales and adoption in our customer labs.
  • Execute on deliverables within defined timelines and measure impact on absorption of delivered information in the marketplace.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • 5 years technical experience in label-free technology within Life Sciences field; ForteBio BLI and SPR product hands-on experience preferred.
  • Master of Science or Ph.D. in biology or related field. Bachelor of Science acceptable for candidate with excellent work experience.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex tasks including project management involving 3rd party expert collaborations.
  • Skilled at presenting complex technical topics in highly engaging seminars to global audiences.
  • Results oriented – has track record for delivery results, takes ownership and is accountable
  • Stretch oriented – embraces and thrives on challenge
  • Customer Service oriented – high sense of urgency
