Market Manager Americas – Industry & Nanotechnology


Buffalo Grove, IL 




The Market Manager Americas – Industry & Nanotechnology is responsible for developing a Go-To-Market (GTM) Plan to drive profitable share and revenue growth for our microscopes, digital cameras, imaging software and solutions in the segments of Industrial and Nanotechnology in the Americas region.



Use market segmentation to guide strategic focus and develops / deploys sound value propositions that resonate. Responsibilities include content generation to support the market message and engage existing and prospective customers. The prime measurements of success surround sales ready opportunity generation and maximizing marketing return on investment (ROI) through deployment of their marketing modes. In addition, the Market Manager develops Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships that support the relevance of our solutions, create peer-to-peer referrals and provide strategic guidance for the business.



Drive transformative marketing in their segments by way of increasing our Market Visibility through identification of target customers, development of content and value propositions that resonate, and deployment of said messages through electronic (and other) means with the ultimate goals of building our contact database and generating qualified sales leads; thereby increasing our visibility to deals in which we can compete.



Critical to success will be robust analysis of current state and gaps to perfect state, refining customer segmentation characteristics and capturing them through the CRM system, deploying a process for new contact acquisition along with contact data maintenance, delivering our message through the electronic modes that potential customers will attach to, and measuring the impact / ROI of our efforts.



This individual is also responsible for in-depth analytics, including price strategy, and working with cross-functional teams and external resources to develop and execute winning strategies.

Promotion and lead generation: E-promotion, ads, trade show strategy, branding, prospecting process, workshops, target account list, communication strategy, and thought leader development.   





  • Growth of opportunity generation and qualified leads   


  • Pricing strategy: Industry and market pricing, projects and implementation, monitoring price and mix, positioning, and bundles.           


  • New Product Introduction:  drive local go-to-market strategy, develop sales collateral, and organize local launch events.       


  • Market analysis and insights: utilizes VOC to drive decisions, market segmentation, Mekkos, market share, market plan, competitor assessment, portfolio management, creates competitive differentiation through sales collateral, offer/value proposition.         Market Share %, % of Revenue


  • Integrate Market Visibility components with CRM strategies for our Dealers and Direct Reps              


  • CRM refined to capture all relevant data


  • System ease of use for sales reps


  • Campaign performance for lead generation


  • Performance to budgeted spend


  • Manage the development, implementation, monitoring, tracking and optimizing of PPC campaigns such as Google AdWords, direct online marketing activity (e.g. display advertising)-Leads


  • Integration of Social Media into the communication strategy


Job Requirements



Qualifications

Work experience (preferred):





  • Marketing experience in the industrial environment in a for-profit (preferably B2B) organization…strategy and GTM through to tactical delivery of marketing modes


  • Customer segmentation experience in the industrial environment


  • Managing marketing agencies and 3rd party partners


  • Experience in optimizing traditional marketing modes, such as trade shows, educational workshops and customer training


  • Proficient in creating and delivering sales enablement tools to drive the marketing message at the street level


  • Customer acquisition and/or retention


  • Strong email marketing expertise and experience with email marketing systems


  • Experience using web content management systems


  • Deep understanding of “how the web works” from a customer perspective (e.g. user experience, behavioral, data, social) and from an executional standpoint – must know how to execute campaigns online and prove hands on capability


  • Detailed knowledge of search engine marketing and aware of the core principles and do’s and don’ts of effective search marketing


  • Strong experience in developing ROI and measurement methodologies for marketing


  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, including organizing, prioritizing and tracking all phases of a project


  • Analytical and able to simplify data to present meaningful and actionable information to different levels of the organization


  • Creative and passionate about creative opportunities for our brand in the digital and traditional spaces


  • Demonstrates commercial acumen


  • Excellent communication and writing skills


  • Strong presentation skills (writing and presenting)


  • BA / BS degree


  • MBA preferred


  • Fluent English – spoken and written; Spanish fluency a bonus


  • Travel (required estimated % of time)


  • Expect minimum 30% travel to attend trade events, complete studies, participate in VoC and strategy development.


  • International and North / Central / South American Travel to customer and non-customer sites
