Description

The Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for providing primary engineering and troubleshooting support for the automated test equipment in the manufacturing operation. The Manufacturing Test Engineer also provides problem resolution to manufacturing issues to ensure the strongest processes to reduce variability and ensure ease of productivity. This position provides engineering support to ensure manufacturability of existing and new products.


Additionally, the Manufacturing Test Engineer is responsible for maintaining a test strategy that includes equipment selection, design, and maintenance of automated test equipment in the facility. The position is responsible for continuous improvement (Kaizen and lean manufacturing) to ensure key safety, quality, and cost goals are met.



PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop processes, procedures, test equipment, and tooling used to produce and test final assembly products, related sub-assemblies and new products.

  • Develop new test systems for new product designs or changes in existing designs; determine calibration specifications, functional and /or environmental test requirements and need for test equipment and fixtures.

  • Develop, maintain and execute product verification and validation test procedures, test plans, and automated test stations

  • Specify and/or design factory test equipment; prepare documentation to enable fabrication of test equipment

  • Establish and manage action plans to communicate schedule and impact of improvement activities

  • Provide technical assistance and conduct training in the operation and test of new products to test personnel

  • Prepare calibration and test procedures and related documentation

  • Monitor progress of tests for validity of test conditions, means of measurement and performance of component or unit in relation to specifications

Job Requirements



Qualifications

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS:




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering



  • 3 years of experience manufacturing engineering



  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office suite 



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Broad detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes



  • 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience



  • 2+ years of experience in fixture design



  • 2+ years of experience in 3D drafting software (Solid Works)



  • Demonstrated ability to influence others who to not directly report into role including hourly and salaried employees.



  • Demonstrated ability to drive for results and prioritize



  • Ability to be adaptable to changing environment



  • Experience in manual manufacturing facility



  • Experience in FDA regulated facility



  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills



  • Lean manufacturing / problem solving experience



  • Demonstrated knowledge of automation platforms (Lab View, Arduino)



  • Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments



  • Skills in layout, validation, new product development, design and release process, repair development and implementation process, root cause analysis and general troubleshooting.



  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up.



  • SAP experience



  • Oracle experience



  • Ability to coordinate with various engineering teams both onsite and remote to effectively carry out action plans and solve problems
