Description

Position Objective:
You will be part of the creative team behind our bioreactors and mixers, working on a strategic improvement program for the manufacturing equipment and processes for our products. Working in close collaboration with our quality, manufacturing and product engineering team, you will make sure we can deliver outstanding quality to our customers, by improving, renew and/or optimize the methods and equipment of manufacturing for our bioreactors and mixers.
The Manufacturing Technology Engineer reports into the R&D Manager.

Key responsibilities:
You are focused on optimal production equipment to achieve target goals for forecasted required output with the right quality level. Provide technical and project leadership in developing and deploying equipment and process technology for quality improvement, new product development and cost reduction.
Working from early phase you will be defining the specs based on project or product needs in collaboration with manufacturing, through design up to handover to the operations team.

  • You define the necessary manufacturing processes and equipment to meet targets for production output;
  • You create specifications for new manufacturing equipment based on project, product and required production targets;
  • You search for state of the art technologies for high quality manufacturing;
  • You are able to sketch and design equipment;
  • You identify suppliers to build equipment, follow up with them and challenge them from discussion of scope to delivery on site;
  • You make project plans and make sure to deliver on time;
  • You help to improve the designs of our existing manufacturing equipment;
  • You are responsible for preparation of technical documentation of the equipment (mechanical and electrical drawings, technical specifications, FAT/VP/IQ/OQ/PQ/RD);
  • You collaborate with project engineering management group en drive for successful hand over to manufacturing ,  including implementation of standard work and operator training;
  • You provide practical and technical assistance to other engineers in design, manufacturing, project engineering and maintenance tasks;
  • You listen, understand, translate internal and external customers’ requirements;
  • You serve as an expert on your field/products and challenge the technical concepts of your colleagues;
  • You work in close collaboration with team members and other departments like Manufacturing, R&D, Product Engineering, Quality, Sourcing.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Experience & education:  
  • Master degree in Engineering;
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in Product and Process Engineering;
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing methodology in relation to manufacturing equipment;
  • Knowledge and experience with Six Sigma is an asset;
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (Solidworks/Inventor);
  • Knowledge of CE regulatory;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (company language), French and Dutch are assets.
