Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is primarily responsible for: 



  • Timely and accurate development and (system) loading of documentation (Work Instructions, Routers, NCMR write-ups, etc.).


  • Development and maintenance of fixtures / tooling.


  • Ensuring proper training of applicable associates on production/assembly/test procedures in line with Safety, Quality, and Productivity objectives.


  • Daily floor support and problem solving in line with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity objectives. (~75%)


  • Proactive identification and resolution of safety hazards and ensuring proper root cause and permanent correction actions are in place for all near-misses and accidents (reactive management).

  • Data driven, root caused focused, Pareto problem solving


  • Effective and efficient daily floor support / problem solving and the implementation leadership of temporary/immediate and long term/root cause focused countermeasures, with the right level of urgency


  • Kaizen / Continuous Improvement leadership (promoting, teaching, implementing, sustaining)


  • Outstanding employee engagement to identify risks/issues/opportunities for prioritized actioning


  • Outstanding time management skills to ensure the timely and accurate / high-quality completion of documentation tasks, balanced with line support, and KPI improvement activities. 

Essential Job Functions:  



  • Development of work instructions


  • Accurate loading of routers


  • Development of fixtures & tooling


  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of assembly and test tooling / fixtures


  • Help ensure proper training of employees (current & new) in line with Safety, Quality, and Processing (Standard Work) expectations, including the development & sustainment of training processes/plans to ensure consistent performance.


  • Floor Support as required to support safety, quality, on-time delivery, and productivity objectives


  • NCMR disposition data entry / write-ups per established process and per ME lead recommendation/decision


  • Responsible for ensuring all safety provisions are considered, designed, and applied to the production / test processes


  • Leadership of Kaizen events / Continuous Improvement activities (QEK's, etc.) supporting KPI objectives

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 



  • High School or GED degree, required.  Associates degree in engineering / technology preferred.


  • Demonstrated ability to balance tactical/daily production support with daily/weekly required tasks, required.


  • Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to efficiently and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to understand the root cause of problems and to implement the appropriate corrective actions, required.


  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical blueprints and specifications, required.


  • Working knowledge of BOM, routings, manufacturing procedures, tooling/fixture design (AutoCAD, Key Creator, Catia, or similar) is highly preferred.


  • LEAN skill knowledge and implementation leadership, preferred.


  • US Citizenship or Resident Alien/Green Card status required (due to on-site government programs).
