Provide support to manufacturing and packaging operations to assure continuous efficiency. Ensures overall process performance to design capability. Provide effective engineering services to production, test and packaging machinery. Also, assist in the design and implementation plans for cost reduction, quality improvements, process support and verification.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Performs conventional engineering assignments and solutions that may involve equipment or product design, test of materials, specification preparation, process study, research investigations, and other related tasks to improve productivity, reduce scrap and/or other business unit goals.  
  • The incumbent participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work to reduce waste.
  • Initiates documentations change requests and justify design and process deviation needs, including Risk Assessments, Engineering Studies and/or Validation Protocols to meet required regulations
  • Identify, develop and execute cost reduction and process improvements ideas into projects with the assistance of local and corporate departments. 
  • Provide training and qualify key production and maintenance personnel in equipment troubleshooting, acceptance criteria, product knowledge and reliability for day-to-day situations assuring a better time management to address long-term business goals. 
  • Ensures the production commitments and efficiency by providing problem analysis, testing and implementing corrective and preventive action plans.  (CAPA)
  • Establishes policies, procedures, and guidelines by developing and implementing standards according with the organizational practices.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networking links, benchmarking best practices throughout the industry and participating in professional organizations
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results; keeping business information confidential; administering the system security; ensuring data accuracy and integrity; maintaining updated professional and technical knowledge; assuring systems compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate standards; ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
  • Complies with QRS, ISO and all applicable regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure that EMS (Environmental Management Systems) is effectively implemented and maintenance with the area of operations, providing adequate resources with appropriately trained to complain with the requirements and environmental objectives and targets.
  • Lead continual improvement projects to reduce, minimize or eliminate environmental aspects/impacts within his/her area of operations.
  • Work is closely supervised. Follows specific, detailed instructions. Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the section or group.
  • May supervise non-exempt personnel.

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.  
  • 1+ years in the manufacturing environment, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industries.
  • EIT or PE License/ active member CIAPR
  • Knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Knowledge in OSHA, FDA, ISO, GMP regulations relative to manufacturing operations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish).
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office, Project Management, Statistics) 
  • Excellent skills in problem solving and critical thinking techniques.
  • Strong ability to work with multiple projects. 
  • Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts
  • Develop solutions to routine technical problem of limited scope.
  • Contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs.
