Description

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for providing engineering support for the assigned departments in the manufacturing operation.  Additionally, they provide problem resolution to manufacturing issues to ensure the strongest processes to reduce variability and ensure ease of assembly and engineering support to ensure manufacturability of existing and new products.

Responsible for maintaining a process strategy, including equipment selection and maintenance, tooling and operator training, for their assigned area(s).  Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen and lean manufacturing) to ensure key safety, quality, and cost goals are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive process improvements and ensure appropriate capital equipment and technologies are utilized

  • Write and help to execute Validation protocols and report

  • Manage ECNs from start to finish, responsible for all supporting documentation

  • Develop processes, procedures and tooling used to produce final assembly products, related sub-assemblies and new products

  • Serve as team members to assist in Kaizens, safety action plans, countermeasures, etc.

  • Drive problem-solving for production related problems

  • Periodically review processing, assembly, and packing methods, procedures and equipment for capability and efficiency of assigned areas.  Support the strategic objectives of the business through special projects

  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in process from an accredited school in an engineering related field

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams and manage assignments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes

  • CAD experience

  • Motivated, results oriented individual that desires to support a specialized assigned production line in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Must be able to demonstrate they have skill in manufacturing processes as well as demonstrate ability to prioritize work as needed.
