The Manufacturing Process Engineer role is a hands-on production line support and troubleshooting electrical and electro-mechanical assemblies in medical devices.  This role will use continuous improvement methods to sustain, update, and implement cost-effective methods of testing/troubleshooting systems and test equipment.  It also maintains test fixtures and equipment to support production as well as financial planning for equipment upgrades.  

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Manufacturing Engineer supports the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, techniques, processes, and tooling on fabricated parts, components, subassemblies, and final products.
  • Design and validate test equipment to support operations 
  • Integration and testing of electrical and firmware subsystems for complex electro-mechanical medical devices
  • Participate in defining requirements, risks and mitigation reviews, and ensure subsystem requirements meet system requirements
  • Perform calibration and maintain certificates on equipment to meet required specifications
  • Maintain and update test documentation that supports reduction in internal and external defect    
  • Troubleshooting through system documentation using problem solving to drive root cause.
  • Maintain and repair small tools used in assembly of scientific equipment
  • Ensures manufacturing documents are created, updated and in compliance with company standards, ISO and GMP as required.
  • Other responsibilities will include, ownership of cell layout and designs, implementation of flow/standard work, design for fixturing/tooling, capacity planning and working with Design Engineering for Design for manufacturability

Job Requirements


  • Ability to articulate complex problem with a common understanding to team members lacking electrical expertise.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manager in completion of daily tasks 
  • Create project plans that are used to ensure on-time completion of projects
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field
  • 2-5 years of experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment 
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced skills in MS Excel is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of and demonstrated results in implementing Lean tools is preferred.
  • ERP knowledge, especially Oracle is preferred
  • Working experience and understanding of ISO/GMP is preferred
  • Test engineering experience is preferred
