Manufacturing Associates

2nd Shift

Work Hours: 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday

This utility position is responsible to safely perform job functions at the highest level of quality, in the processing of media, mesh and elements. It is also responsible for providing accurate paperwork and record keeping. Must have the ability to use measuring and test equipment as required, follow all company rules and policies as well as OSHA/EPA regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Inspect, cut and lay-up of dynalloy, fibermet and continuous rolls.
2. Operate calendaring equipment (rolling mills).
3. Cut and calendar wire mesh.
4. Material handling and identification.
5. Staging and unstaging media sheets, continuous rolls, mesh and elements.
6. Building and loading fixtures.
7. Calendar media sheets and continuous rolls to manufacturer and thickness specifications.
8. Passivation of media sheets.
9. Operate continuous Hydrogen furnace and Vacuum furnaces.
10. Final inspection, trim and package of media products.
11. Prepare and maintain records as required.
12. Ability to read and understand complex instructions and work from schedules.
13. Accurately use measuring devices as required.
14. Use personal protective equipment as required.
15. Good mechanical skills and troubleshooting ability.
16. Maintain an acceptable level of all Company Policies.
17. Assist other team members as instructed by your Team Leader or Supervisor.

Qualifications:


1. Maintain accurate records, logs and collect any necessary date for use by
Engineering.
2. Maintain an acceptable level of attendance (as measured by the Attendance Policy).
3. Prepare and maintain records as required.
4. Use protective equipment as required.
5. Other duties as required by management.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 KNOWLEDGE:

1. Requires a high school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired.
2. Able to read and understand written instructions.
3. Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. on occasion.
4. Must be accurate with both calipers and micrometer. 
5. Strong mechanical aptitude.
6. Strong team attitude.
7. Experience in like work centers.


SKILLS:

1. Ability to read and understand written instructions.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in like work centers.
2. Experience in working with steel microfibers is preferred but not needed.


TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

Will be trained and certified on all aspects of the position.  Training is typically conducted over a prescribed period of time and may require working at night. When and if training certification is required, it may consist of taking and passing one or more comprehensive test(s) based on classroom materials, computer training information and/or field hands-on training comprehension demonstrations. When and if training certification is required, the incumbent will be asked to renew his/her certification at regular intervals when or if lack of certification level knowledge is demonstrated. Must maintain a satisfactory level certification when required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs. Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull for long periods of time.  Able to climb a ladder and flex the upper and lower body. Must be able to read and write simple statements. Able to analyze, memorize, and conduct and comprehend simple mathematical tasks. Be able to make decisions and have sound judgment. Must be able to wear a face respirator for up to 4 hours at a time.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to work alone and around others. Be able to have verbal and face-to-face contact with others. Must be flexible to work various shifts, work hours, different days of the week, and extended days. Able to work during daytime or nighttime. Must be able to withstand temperature changes, work under extreme heat or cold, confined spaces, inside and/or outside, and around dirt, dust and/or hazardous chemical materials.

Each incumbent is assigned a pre-determined work schedule to follow by their Team Lead or Work Center Supervisor.
