The Manager - Transportation & Logistics will manage all inbound and outbound shipments with respect to compliance, cost and customer specification.  Support internal customers; production, procurement and engineering, to deliver material compliantly, timely, and without damage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the overall delivery of inbound and outbound material
  • Includes freight vendor, invoice and claim management
  • Oversight and Support of Shipping / Receiving Team for transportation issues and escalation
  •  Responsible for associated work instructions and standard process
  • Management of freight budget
  • Creation and execution of freight savings projects
  • Coordinating through KaVo Kerr Platform / Danaher where appropriate for leveraged rates, process and contracts
  • Monthly metrics reporting for Romulus internally and to Dental Platform and Danaher Implementation of any Dental or Danaher transportation or logistics initiatives
  • Work with Danaher third party freight payment and audit vendors
  • Review and approve data from BridgeNet weekly
  • Review and approve freight invoices through Data2
  • Work cross functionally with operations to drive cost savings and process improvements
  • Provide logistics analysis:  landed costs; freight quote cost review
  • Benchmark and implement or develop best practice methods in logistics
  • Creation and maintenance of freight routing guides

  • Ability to travel 1 – 5 times per year for Training and Logistics face to face meetings
  • Strong Data analysis and / reporting skills
  • Ability to calculate cost per kg, lb. or shipment across various modes to drive savings and report on opportunities to remove costs from the supply chain

Job Requirements


  • 3 – 5 years Full Truck Load and Less than Truckload experience with solid understanding of rate structures and Carrier Management  
Education and/or Experience:
  • BA/BS degree; Logistics or Supply Chain degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience within logistics
