            Summary of Position:

  • The Industrial Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. This individual will have the ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications in order to provide troubleshooting and repair services. The Industrial Electrician will also routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components in order to ensure the continued safe, efficient and effective operations of all equipment and fixtures utilized by the organization.

            Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  • Install new services and modified current electrical services according to electrical safety codes and regulations.
  • Operates powered industrial truck (forklift) to load and unload material.
  • Operates scissor lift to work at various heights.
  • Testing and troubleshooting electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment.
  • Installing struts, electrical conduit, MC cable, etc.
  • Setting up and maintain control and distribution devices--switches, relays, transformers, panels.
  • Connecting electric appliances, motors, lighting, devices and equipment.
  • Test equipment for hazards and adjust, relocate, or replace as needed.
  • Make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, or instructions.
  • Observes and complies with all local, state, and national safety regulations in addition to company policies.
  • Observes and complies with all safety regulations and company policies.


          Other Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities (DBS).
  • Maintains clean, orderly and safe work area.
  • Maintains a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel.

Job Requirements


            Education and Experience:

  • Education: High-school or equivalent.
    • Certified Electrician preferred
  • Experience: 5-7 years maintenance or related experience, and 5+ years of electrical experience.

           Skills and Competencies: 

•    Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency and personable.

•    Proven electrical experience.

•    Advanced electrical installation and troubleshooting

•    Ability to read/understand written instructions, basic blueprints/schematics. Create written reports.

•    Ability to work effectively with both employees and managers. Ability to convey a positive and professional image at the work place.

•    Ability to work under pressure and manage many tasks simultaneously.

•    Ability to maintain productivity levels that meet or exceed expectations

•    Ability to successfully manage time/projects. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability.
