Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining automated packaging machines that use PLCs, conveyors, feed systems, and various sensors to track material dispensing and packing. Ability to run equipment if needed
  • Primary assignment for first shift, but flexibility to work second shift or weekends is desired
  • Work related but not limited to electrical and mechanical repair
  • Troubleshoot, install, inspect and maintain machinery and equipment 
  • Operates a variety of power tools such as drills, lathes, welders, electrical and electronic test equipment and other tools common to equipment and facility repair
  • Maintains area, equipment, machine, maintenance logs and facility housekeeping and/or care as instructed
  • Observe guidelines and rules for working in or with hazardous materials or environments and wear and use prescribed safety equipment and PPE
  • Employee must be able to climb ladders

Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two to ten years’ related experience and/or training


  • Completion of basic electrical, or mechanical classes desirable
  • Associate's Degree Preferred
  • Certified electrician is a plus
  • Some leadership/supervisory experience is desired 
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot problems in the following systems:
•Programmable Logic Controllers 
•DC circuits
•Optical amplifiers/Optical pathways
•Pneumatic/hydraulic pathways
•Vacuum pathways

  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions and percentages 
  • Ability to use problem solving techniques to pinpoint failures on automation machinery
  • Ability to maintain the spare parts inventory for manufacturing machines 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel
