Description

Summary- Maintenance Coordinator provides support for the Operations Manager in the up-keep and repair of the facility.  Under general supervision, performs day to day maintenance and material handling within facility and coordinates repair services of laboratory equipment and mechanical systems such plumbing, electrical, fire suppression, and HVAC.   Duties focus primarily on material handling and the performance of a variety of maintenance tasks, rather than a high degree of skill in any particular trade.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Follows schedules and routine Preventative Maintenance for various machines and mechanicals for the facility.  Maintains neat and accurate logs as required by corporate policies and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Responsible for assuring facility security and fire alert system is functioning.  Schedules required maintenance, testing, and repairs of these systems as required by state, local, or corporate safety requirements.
  • Coordinates repairs/maintenance of Torrit dust collectors, plaster traps, septic tanks, steamers, HVAC filters, grinder station pumping, air compressor, Universal Waste collection (light bulb and ballast replacement), and any other routine maintenance as assigned by reporting manager. 
  • Assures all contractors comply with Contractor Safety Policy and have up to date proof of insurance.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices, training records, and other documentation as needed for the functional area.
  • Heavy emphasis on materials handling including restocking of department chemicals, materials, and supplies from onsite storage building per procedure or as requested by department leads or management.
  • Adhere to all EH&S safety policies.
  • Participate in monthly safety committee meetings, biannual EHS Audits, and Kaizen events as needed
  • Coordinates collection and storage of Chemical Waste for Disposal with licensed contractor.  Completes General Safety Training along with RCRA and DOT training on an annual basis.
  • Is designated as the alarm first responder/after-hours for emergency service communication via company cell phone.
  • Assists EH&S and Plant Manager with building sweeps during evacuations.
  • Maintaining safe walkways during snow/ice season throughout the day of an event.  Coordinates with snow removal vendor for plowing and salting of parking lot and walk ways.
  • Responsible for assuring the timely unloading deliveries from vendors.
  • Delivering supplies and materials to and from onsite storage building, warehouse, and trips to local businesses for purchases.
  • Inventory control of supplies stored at warehouse.
  • Adhere to company policy, procedures, and code of conduct.
  • Assist in coordinating company events.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in facility maintenance
  • Knowledge of Commercial Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, HV/AC preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of integrity.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi task.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with groups of employees within the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Working knowledge of MS Outlook is required.
