Description

The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for arranging shipments with our Shipping carriers and freight forwarders to our external customers.  They will also arrange shipments to our internal customers, field service engineers and sales representatives for demonstrations. They will prepare all compliance paperwork accurately for the shippers and maintain all the necessary paperwork for our records.  The Logistics Specialist will oversee the life cycle of shipments, including the physical picking of products, packing of products, paperwork preparation, and shipping (UPS/FedEx/DHL terminals). They will also provide shipping information to our internal customers and track shipments across multiple channels. This role has full accountability of all shipments arranged. Due to the nature of the role and business requirements, extended hours may be required. This role will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and has the potential for career growth.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate materials for delivery orders to customer sites as needed
  • Responsible for enforcement of transportation agreements & services, export controls and containment of domestic and international freight expenses
  • Maintain trade compliance and perform a wide variety of planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow
  • Coordinate and monitors workflow, assisting in scheduling and prioritizing activities in assigned logistic area
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9000, IATA, OSHA, DOT, FAA, and FDA Guidelines.  
  • Perform customer service function by coordinating and interacting with internal and external customers to resolve shipping issues.  May specialize in shipment of dangerous/hazardous goods.
  • Arrange RMA returns shipments
  • Physical picking of products, packing of products, verification of paperwork and shipping using the UPS/FedEx/DHL terminals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • 1 - 2 years of experience as a Logistics Specialist
  • Minimum high school diploma 
  • Certified as Forklift Operator is preferred
  • Proven experience with FedEx, UPS and DHL shipping terminals
  • Proven experience working with confidential or sensitive information
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours dependent on business need
