Job
Summary









Reporting
to a Manufacturing Production Manager, your key role will be to assist with
the day to day running of the production and warehouse areas, including
managing the team in the absence of the Production Manager. You will be
responsible for keeping the Cell running smoothly, removing bottle necks and
ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery and Production targets are achieved. At
all times the Line Leader remains a direct member of the Production/Warehouse
Team, delivering output as required in line with the production plan. 






 









Key
Responsibilities









Overseeing
day-to-day production and despatch within a safety critical environment,
ensuring targets and deadlines are met to satisfy both internal and external
customer demand.






Reporting
any concerns/non-conformances to the Production Manager in a timely manner.






Sustain
5S/SWK and participate in Kaizen events






Sustain
TPM






Develop
own personal knowledge to expert level across all areas of the Cell






Train,
coach and certify associates (new/existing and temps) in all aspects of
relevant Cell SWK






Identifying
and fixing (PSP) quality issues






Identifying
and fixing (PSP) productivity/bottleneck issues






Stand
in for the Production Manager covering holidays and sickness






Supporting
the Production Manager in Associate development by training/coaching and
monitoring Associates on PIPs to ensure improvement






Maintain
output by ensuring equipment breakdowns are kept to a minimum by either
self-diagnosis/repair or by contacting the relevant persons.

Qualification









Desirable  - Minimum 5 GCSE's at grade A-C including
English and Maths














Work Experience






Experience
of demand management in a make to order environment






Experience
within safety critical processes






Experience
of working in a team











Knowledge
& Skills






Basic IT
skills, including the use of MS Word, Excel & Outlook. Knowledge of MRP/ERP
Systems would be advantageous.






Analytical
and Problem Solving Skills






Use of
Daily Visual Management tools






Knowledge
of Lean Tools (Visual Management, SMED, TPM, Kanban, Kaizen etc) would be
advantageous.






Able to
apply 5S/SWK tool
