Job Purpose

The Software Engineer will serve as a member of a software team.  The successful candidate must be familiar with object oriented and Agile software processes and self-reliant in implementing new components and contributing to a large code base.  Significant development opportunities exist to increase the understanding of acquisition, measurement and analysis software and their efficient implementation, work with an experienced and successful Agile software team, and improve coding skills.

As a key member of a dynamic multidisciplinary project team, the successful candidate must have good interpersonal skills and will be expected to understand and help to develop and create world-class technologies, applications, techniques and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop software for high performance, multi-threaded software products in an Agile-based software development group
  • Design and develop software for instrumentation software products, implement and enhance automated tests as part of software development
  • Actively work with multi-disciplinary teams to help develop requirements and specifications
  • Work closely with software test team to identify and resolve quality issues throughout development
  • Understand requirements of a validation compliant design and development environment, required for regulated market customers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Takes responsibility for own personal development and knowing about the market and competition
  • Aware of Health and Safety and conducts self in a way that does not put him/herself or any other person at risk. 

Job Requirements


  • Educated to Bachelor of Science degree, ideally in Software Engineering.
  • Masters / Ph.D. degree in Engineering or business will be an advantage.




  • Minimum of 3 years working in a R&D organization
  • 2+ years’ experience in a modern object-oriented language
  • Experience in Test Driven Development
  • Experience in agile development


  • Experience in developing new products
  • Working knowledge of (relational) databases
  • Experience in integrated build environments
  • Experience in project management tools like Jira


  • English and German, written and spoken to high standard
  • A motivated self-starter with the ability to work as part of a project team.
  • Be innovative, resourceful and resilient in a challenging development environment
  • Analytical, methodical and organised approach
  • Ability to analyse complex situations and make appropriate operational recommendations.
  • Drive and resilience - ability to maintain focus on key objectives regardless of organisational or operational diversions

  • Highly computer literate, regular user of MS Office
  • Flexible and able to prioritize competing issues and deadlines
  • Be highly motivated with interpersonal, presentation and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations

  • Must have flexibility of working hours around worldwide time zones
  • Must maintain a valid passport
