Description

  • Manages 3rd party software development work, including: RFQ creation, proposal review, sourcing liaison, and vendor daily management to established project milestones
  • Creates and maintains system and software component specifications per product user requirements
  • Creates and maintains system and software verification & validation test plans and procedures
  • Prepares artifacts for and participates in design reviews, including: system architecture and specifications, failure modes effects analysis, reliability and maintainability, others as required by product family
  • Contributes to software development activities for cloud (front-end and back-end), edge and mobile components. Primary languages include Python, JavaScript and C#
  • Some (less than 25%) domestic travel required. Infrequent international travel required


Job Requirements



Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering or related field and at least 5 years of professional experience; OR at least 2 years of undergraduate studies in one or more of these fields of study and at least 10 years of professional experience.

-At least 3 years of experience in managing work performed by 3rd parties

-At least 5 years of experience in creating system and software specifications

-At least 3 years of experience in creating system and software test plans and procedures

-At least 7 years of experience in the design and development of software-based systems, including at least one of the following competency areas:

 Internet of Things products (edge, cloud and user interface development)

-Web and mobile application development

-Cloud/back-end systems application development & DevOps

-At least 3-5 years of experience in at least one of the follow software development languages: JavaScript, C#, Python

-Experience with tools for software application test, maintenance, bug tracking and helpdesk

-Knowledge of programming and software development and life cycle concepts

Demonstrates critical thinking capabilities and follow through with customers

-Proficiency in defect trouble shooting and code debugging

-Experience in continuous improvement of software development processes

-Experience in researching and prototyping new technologies and methods to improve customer workflows

-Demonstrated application of product privacy and security principles to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of all systems, applications, and data

-Assist in software development activities related to various projects within Pall as required, including the standardization of tools and processes.

-Production of work procedures in conformity with health, safety, security and environmental protection standards for global products

-Has a good understanding of continuous improvement and lean process development

-Works well with cross-functional teams

-Works well with teams distributed across multiple work locations (including international)
