Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inventory Specialist II position is responsible for supporting Depot and Field Service organizations on inventory management at the direction of the Inventory Specialist IV/Manager. This role has a wide range of responsibilities including parts order management, receive stock, cycle counts, data analysis and reporting, and verifying and transacting materials to ensure timely and accurate flow of materials in the Service organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and provide accurate responses to a high volume of daily communication
  • Develop, run reports and analyze data related to inventory management
  • Complete daily reports and metrics tracking
  • Work in collaboration with Management, Shipping and Receiving, Operations, and Technicians to ensure proper parts order management and planning to meet on-time delivery
  • Work with support departments (Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and sister companies) to maintain correct inventory and safety stock levels
  • Utilize Danaher Business Systems to identify and implement efficiencies within the Materials and Logistics organization
  • Review part shortages and expedite as needed
  • Resolve schedule problems throughout the day by closely coordinating with necessary departments
  • Receive/transact and stock materials into depot, field, and central stockroom
  • Perform inventory audits and cycle counts
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies
  • Inspect material for conformance to standards and quality
  • Initiate NCNs to quarantine, re-work and control non-conforming parts
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and problem solving
  • Support kaizen and DBS activities
  • Responsible for material presentation, Kan-Ban management, and 5S
  • Serve as a back-up for Inventory Specialist IV/Manager, as needed
  • Keep work area neat and orderly

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in inventory management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written across all levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization skills
  • Ability to track and manage priorities based upon daily business needs
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Ability to deal with complexity and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to react quickly, make effective decisions, and function well under pressure with time sensitive constraints
  • Drive for results and quality oriented
  • Effective interpersonal skills within a team setting
  • Experience using Oracle and/or other ERP systems

The employee is constantly required to stand/or sit( select locations, see below), squat, turn/twist, reach, use hands to: finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is frequently required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell. The Loveland facility requires continuous standing for duration of the shift.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must safely operate material handling equipment (ie:  fork lifts and fork trucks).

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
