Description

Our Instrument Assembler will assemble and test instruments, optics and corresponding sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering specifications.

This is a Temp to Hire position.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Assemble, calibrate, test, and rework instruments, optics and sub-assemblies using blueprints and specifications.  

2. Maintain a high level of quality during the assembly process.  Perform regular, in-process inspection of own work and materials.

3. Maintain time, scrap, and rework standards on each assembly.

4. Become familiar with all related assembly specifications, blueprints, parts, part numbers and descriptions, becoming proficient at identification and verification.

5. Keep work area neat, clean and well organized.  Return all tools, fixtures, supplies and other equipment to their proper storage areas.

6. Responsible for Inventory accuracy and control within assigned section: follow stock rotation procedures, and maintain safe storage of all materials.

7. Responsible for the proper maintenance of assigned equipment.

8. Work with other departments, including Engineering and Quality Assurance, as needed to improve product quality and production efficiency.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED required.  Degree or certificate from certified electronics program is preferred.  

2. Three to six months of assembly experience preferred.

3. Computer experience, basic keyboard functions required, familiarity with Windows and Excel is preferred.
4. Excellent hand-eye coordination (ability to handle small components accurately); excellent dexterity required.

5. Must be able to stand/walk up to 75% of the day. 

6. Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, work instructions, and specifications.  Requires familiarity with, and the ability to use, common hand and power tools.
